These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Closer Today (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use Closer Today. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account and partner linking

Closer Today is designed for two people to use together. You link with a partner using an invite code. Either partner can unlink at any time from Settings, which ends shared features between you but preserves your own existing reflections and summaries.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the reflections, answers, photos, and other content you create. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit that content solely to provide the App's features to you and your linked partner (including sending reflection text to our AI provider to generate your summaries, as described in our Privacy Policy).

You agree not to use Closer Today to upload unlawful content, harass anyone, or violate another person's rights.

4. Subscriptions

Closer Today offers an optional premium subscription, billed through Apple's App Store. One subscription unlocks premium features for both linked partners. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed entirely through your Apple ID account settings — we do not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds ourselves (Apple's refund policies apply).

5. Not a substitute for professional care

Closer Today is a reflective journaling tool, not a therapy, medical, or crisis service. Any automated safety screening we perform is a best-effort feature, not a guarantee. If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741) immediately.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated summaries will be accurate or complete.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Closer Today and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including damages relating to your relationship or any decisions made based on content in the App.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the App.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
